This publication assists citizensto help them understand how a local government budget is put together and how their tax dollars are spent.	In September, the Town Supervisor who acts as the CFO for the Town, assembles a tentative budget to be presented to the Town Clerk by September 30^th The Town clerk presents the tentative budget to the Town Board by October 5^th The Town Board then creates a preliminary budget and sets a public hearing to be no later than the Thursday following election day A final budget is adopted by November 20^th
