Town Clerk is Responsible for:

• Attending Town Board meetings and keeping a complete and accurate record of the proceedings
• Preparing minutes of the Town Board meetings and keeping them in Minute Books
• Having custody of all Records, Books, and Papers of the Town
• Retaining an Ordinance Book
• Recording all Local Laws
• Procuring and maintaining Signboard and Post Legal Notices
• Being in charge of all General and Primary Elections
• Administering Oaths of Office to all Officers and Employees of the Town
• Issuing Sporting and Fishing Licenses, Dog Licenses, Marriage Licenses, Peddlers and Solicitors Licenses, Games of Chance and Bell Jar Licenses, Handicap Parking Permits, Sales of Zoning and other Ordinances
• Processing all Vouchers and Bills for the Town
• Taking fees for building permits, copies of records, Highway Agreements, and other permits
• Receiving fees collected by other offices
• Legal Notices regarding Bids, Public Hearings, etc.
• Being a Notary Public
• Town Clerk Frequently Asked Questions
• Being the Town's Freedom of Information Officer

License information to complete your Wedding Plans

What you need to bring

• The Bride and Groom
• Birth Certificate or Baptismal record or Naturalization record
• Driver’s license or Passport or Employment picture ID or Immigration record
• Previous Marriages if this applies – Death Certificate, Certified copy of Divorce Decree
• The cost of the license is $40.00 cash or check ( Sorry, we can not process credit or debit cards)

License must be obtained 24 hours prior to ceremony

License is valid for 60 days, beginning 24 hours after it is issued

License is only valid in New York State

There is no blood test or physical exam required
