Police - Civil and Criminal Fingerprinting

Police Home

The Town of Manlius Police Department conducts fingerprinting for applicants for employment or licensing requiring background investigation, and for persons arrested on criminal charges. All persons fingerprinted must present acceptable photo identification with signature to positively identify their identity before they can be fingerprinted.

Persons requesting to be fingerprinted should allow ample time for this service as it is often accomplished by a police officer and availability is subject to our response priorities and manpower at a given time.

Civil Fingerprinting
This service is provided only for current residents of the Town of Manlius or Villages of Fayetteville, Manlius, and Minoa, or for employment reasons for business located with the Town and its Villages. In addition to proper identification, applicants must bring completed (except for signature) applicant fingerprint cards with them and must present proof of residency or employment. Civil fingerprinting is normally done during Records Section [Link to N Records Section] business hours, applicants are encouraged to call ahead to determine availability.

Criminal Fingerprinting
Persons arrested on criminal charges by the Town of Manlius Police Department and released on an appearance ticket without having been fingerprinted or photographed are required to be processed before the court can dispose of their charge. Persons requiring criminal fingerprinting must call 682-2212 to make an appointment.
