The Town of Manlius Police Department was established in 1985 after the Town of Manlius and the Villages of Fayetteville, Manlius and Minoa entered into a joint-municipal agreement. This agreement set forth the criteria for the availability of full time police services for all residents (approximately 32,000) and businesses within the boundaries of the 54 square miles that encompass the Town of Manlius.

Current Operations

Today, the Town of Manlius Police Department is the primary full service law enforcement agency that provides an average of 20,000 calls for service to residents and businesses. As a full service agency, the department provides:

  • Child ID cards (not official forms of identification)
  • Child safety seat inspection and loaner program
  • Community relations
  • Investigative and juvenile operations
  • Marked patrol services
  • Non-criminal fingerprinting
  • Property checks
  • School information resource officers
  • Sponsorship of an Explorer Post
  • Traffic enforcement
