Town Board Highlights - January 12, 2022

Highway Superintendent - Purchase of a Street Sweeper 

The Town Board authorized the purchase of a new Street Sweeper from the sole bidder J&J Equipment in the amount of $276,500 as budgeted for. The used street sweeper will be auctioned off within the next few weeks. 

Resolution - Zone Change Request N. Burdick St. 

The Town Board ratified a resolution prepared by town attorney that set a date for a public hearing on February 9th at 6:35 PM for a Zone Change request for a location on North Burdick St., Fayetteville. The Town Clerk will now publish and notify the neighbors of the up coming public hearing. Information on the zone change application can be found at

Legal Description - Community Solar Array - Retired Town Landfill 

The Town Board adopted the legal description for the lease with Abundant Solar for the community solar array on the retired town landfill.

3Gi - Inland Port 

The Town Board discussed the proposed 3Gi Inland Port. The Board members discussed their positions on the zone change request and proposal. The Town Board requested the Supervisor to draft a letter regarding the board’s position and request for traffic mitigation.

Zone Change Request - Dollar General- 6589 Minoa Bridgeport Road 

The zone change request for 6589 Minoa Bridgeport Road was reviewed by the Planning Board on November 8th and did not receive a recommendation of support. The Town Board discussed the matter and based upon the negative recommendation of the Planning Board there was no support from the town board on the requested Zone Change located at 6589 Minoa Bridgeport Road.

Planning Board Highlights - January 10, 2022

William T. Adams – 7145 Ferstler Road, Kirkville, NY 13082 – 2 Lot Subdivision

The Public Hearing was held, and the subdivision passed with the condition that the maps not be signed until the Applicant completes his expired building permit. The Board granted a 6-month extension to the Building Permit. 

Harrington Homes - 3848 Henneberry Road, Jamesville, NY 13078 - 34 Lot Subdivision

The Public Hearing was held, several residents spoke, most were concerned about drainage and the water in the area. The Board tabled the matter until further information is received and they hear back from the Onondaga County Planning Board.

Abundant Solar – Bowman Road – Site Plan and Special Use Permit

The Board set a date for a Public Hearing on January 24.

Town Board Highlights - October 27, 2021

Open Podium

A resident from Dabney Rd. spoke about drainage issues he is having specific to his property. The Town Board discussed the matter and what the town is allowed to do as it relates to issues on private property. The Town Supervisor will be contacting the Association of Towns to request any information that AOT might have on assisting residents with private property drainage issues.

2022 Town Budget

The 2022 preliminary budget public hearing was closed and the Town Board adopted the attached amendments. The amendments outline the use of some of the ARPA funds. The final budget will be adopted on 11/17 and the tax rate announced.

Trash & Brush

The Town Board approved the contract with Syracuse Haulers for Trash and Brush Collection in the Town of Manlius.
